Essential Duties and Job Functions

Serves as the global Medical Affairs Digital strategy lead developing and implementing the annual HIV Global Medical Affairs (GMA) digital plan for HIV Treatment, Prevention and Franchise  

Ensures regular communication with GMA HIV teams to remain abreast of the HIV landscape and key priorities to provide and/or support the delivery of appropriate digital tools

Works in close alignment and collaboration with HIV counterparts from Global Strategic Marketing, Global Public Affairs and Global legal to ensure a consistent strategy and aligned planning is in place while also allowing for optimization of existing resources

Collaborates in the development and execution of HIV Global Medical Affairs Plans of Action in alignment with respective Indication Strategic Plans

Maintains regular communication with G9 MA teams in affiliates to ensure appropriate knowledge of what the local needs are and the appropriate digital educational tools that meet their HCPs and other key stakeholders needs; at same time gathers information on resources developed/rolled out at local level and elevates local best practice to global as appropriate

Attends major conferences and helps coordinate global medical affairs activities and implementing the X-functional digital strategy at those conferences

Organizes and supports the execution of Medical Educational initiatives.

Provides support to affiliates, holistically, with a cross portfolio approach.

Manages projects to completion, anticipating obstacles and difficulties that may arise, resolving them in a collaborative and compliant manner.

Assists in the medical review and certification (if applicable) of both branded and unbranded materials developed by HIV global teams.

HIV-specific knowledge and experience in using technology and omnichannel approach to enhance HCPs and other stakeholders’ medical education effectiveness

Education & Experience

Preferred MD, PharmD, DO, or PhD degree with solid experience in HIV Infection

PharmD., D.O., or Ph.D. (biological or pharmaceutical sciences) and 2+ years clinical experience; MS with 8 years of relevant experience or BS with 10 years of relevant experience 

Know-how in developing omnichannel approach to consistent and cohesive customer experience

Proven experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries preferred

Proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed structure

Fluent in spoken and written English

Five plus years of industry experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or Research including extensive knowledge of hepatology and challenges/barriers to patient care.

Ability to think strategically and translate that strategy into an actionable work plan.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal, relationship-building, negotiating, communication skills, and ability to use these in a Teamwork environment.

Excellent organizational skills to support project planning across multiple activities, anticipate and prioritize workload.

The salary range for this position is: $237,660.00 - $307,560.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
