Director, Fleet Asset and Maintenance Management

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fleet Asset and Maintenance Management Director to lead our asset and maintenance initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all facets of fleet management and maintenance operations. You will play a key role in shaping and executing our strategic vision for asset management, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency in our fleet. **Responsibilities** + Develop and implement comprehensive fleet maintenance programs and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure regular servicing of all vehicles and equipment, preventing breakdowns and extending asset lifespans. + Manage the budget and annual financial planning for fleet maintenance and asset management while identifying opportunities for cost savings. + Cultivate a high-performance team and culture of excellence in asset management and maintenance, establishing a best-in-class function recognized as a top destination for talent both internally and externally. + Lead and manage a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and asset management experts responsible for the daily operations and lifecycle management of fleet assets. + Oversee the acquisition, utilization, and disposal of fleet assets by collaborating with global sourcing to influence procurement processes, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring efficient fleet utilization. + Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork by prioritizing development planning, executing enterprise and departmental goals, and providing constructive feedback for effective career progression. + Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics to identify areas for enhancement and develop strategies based on insights to optimize performance. + Utilize industry data and professional expertise to provide proactive communication regarding railcar market analysis and trends that influence decision-making. + Build essential partnerships to align fleet operations with company objectives and enhance overall performance. + Attend industry events to stay informed about current trends and regulatory changes affecting fleet operations. + Apply curiosity and creativity to seek out cost savings, innovative solutions, and address root causes of challenges. + Uphold and promote a strong safety culture by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and by identifying and addressing workplace hazards. **Minimum Qualifications (required)** + High School diploma or GED + 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics + Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities **Additional Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field + Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
