The Opportunity 

The Director of Facilities Management reports to the Senior Director for Housing & Residence Life and leads a team responsible for construction, renovation, preventative maintenance, and operational excellence. The position emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and the enhancement of the student living experience. We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated expertise in facilities operations and a passion for advancing infrastructure in a dynamic academic environment. 

Key responsibilities include:

Capital Project Management: Oversee the lifecycle of major and minor capital projects, including design, construction, and commissioning, to ensure compliance with university standards and government regulations.  Facilities Operations: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs, allocate resources, and optimize systems for reliability, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.  Leadership & Administration: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, manage budgets, and establish policies that align with strategic goals.  Emergency Preparedness: Collaborate on response plans to safeguard residents and facilities.

Expected Salary:

$140,000 - $150,000; Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 8 years of experience or Master’s degree and 6 years of experience 

Preferred Qualifications: A degree in business, engineering, architecture, or a related field.  Certified general or building contractor license.  10+ years of experience in facilities operations, construction, or project management.  5+ years of full-time supervisory experience.  Proficiency in AutoDesk Suite, Microsoft Project, and Revit.
