**Your day at NTT DATA**
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director reports directly to the GDC Global EHS Lead and is accountable for the development and management of GDC-India environmental & occupational health, safety management system (EHS-MS). The EHS Director is required to provide a consistent and effective structure through policies, guidelines and processes that are applicable to GDC-India business including design, construction and operational facilities and offices including associated functions.
The role will structure, develop and lead the India regional EHS resources and support regional and GDC peers to establish and deliver key objective developments, including compliance with national and federal regulatory and legislative frameworks. With a strong knowledge and experience of industry and functional practices, this position will develop strong relationships with partners, clients and internal/external interested parties to promote GDC India as an EHS industry leader, strengthening our reputation and driving towards a self-driven collaborative EHS culture. The role is a blend of hands-on, modern strategic and tactical leadership that applies effective communication and influence styles to mature a purpose driven EHS centric organization with accountable foundations.
**What you'll be doing**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Ensure the successful implementation of NTT EHS-MS at all office, data center, and construction sites across India by collaborating closely with GDC EHS leadership and regional EHS teams, integrating it within all supporting and parallel functional processes.
+ Develop and manage the budget for the GDC India EHS department, ensuring financial accountability.
+ Drive cost savings from direct and indirect costs associated with incidents, holding yourself accountable for financial efficiency.
+ Define, implement, and maintain frameworks to support and enhance the EHS strategy and measurable performance, ensuring accountability for strategic outcomes.
+ Mentor and train employees and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, drive improvement through structured change management, and promote safety leadership and recognizable behaviors, taking responsibility for their development.
+ Manage, track, and report EHS leading and lagging statistics, effectively communicating these to leadership, accountable functional/geographical organizations, and external partners, ensuring transparency and accountability.
+ Integrate strategic EHS planning and EHS-MS developments in line with GDC EHS strategic goals and national legislative frameworks, ensuring alignment and accountability.
+ Align tactical objectives with Global EHS-India functional goals in collaboration with HR, Legal & Governance, Procurement, Expansion, Design, Construction, Operations, and Commercial teams, ensuring cohesive and accountable operations.
+ Provide effective communication and consultation structures to enhance organizational engagement and contribution towards GDC Global EHS direction and measured performance, ensuring accountability for communication effectiveness.
+ Evaluate EHS cultural feedback to inform continuous improvement initiatives, taking responsibility for cultural development.
+ Develop internal resources and competencies to ensure quality, consistency, and effectiveness of EHS risk mitigation measures and incident investigation corrective and preventive actions, holding yourself accountable for these improvements.
+ Collaborate with the organization to develop and implement EHS control gates, ensuring pre-determined EHS requirements are integrated within functional business processes, taking responsibility for compliance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
+ Proven track record of managing EHS functions across multiple countries within a data center environment.
+ Demonstrable ability to implement new frameworks, policies and procedures.
+ Proven track record of managing and leading diverse multi country teams.
+ Excellent commercial and business development skills.
+ Fluent in English, written and verbal, is essential.
+ Demonstrable skills in leadership, management, and collaboration.
+ Strategic thinking individual with a structured and target-oriented approach.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Degree within a EHS discipline
+ Minimum of 10 years of relevant HSE experience.
+ Experience with developing, implementing and measuring against international management standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001.)
+ Experienced and qualified in Project Management and ITIL techniques.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
+ May need to perform work at times during global business hours and time zones.
WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
+ Willing and able to travel 30% dependent on business needs.
+ If remote location, ability to perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.
