The Opportunity:

Your role at Sephora: 

As a Director, Business Systems –Merchandising Systems, you will provide vision, and strategy on how to build, grow and manage IT Applications/Solutions for Sephora merchandising Business. In addition, you will:

Partner with senior leadership on special business initiatives by, understanding what business goals need to be achieved; developing solutions to help drive execution of the goals; recommending solutions to close gaps; and collaborating with vendors to leverage benchmark best practices to support recommendations and solutions. Define new opportunities for systems improvement, create roadmap and collaborate with Engineering teams to build solutions. Develop Merchandising Business requirements in a product mindset and develop using various new technologies (GenAI, Web Tech, AL/ML) and SAS systems. Lead the Merchandising Technology team comprised of Senior Managers/Business Analysts with a focus on application delivery and enhancements that impact Business functions for Unified Assortment Management, Brand engagement systems, Merchandising Management for dotcom/Retail channels, Space Management for retail, New Product introduction and product life cycle management. Report to the Head of Merchandising Applications which provide Applications Product Management, build applications, and own business relationships for the Merchandising domains. Develop and foster relationships across the company to ensure our technology investments are well matched to our dynamic business. Partner with domain Business and other IT product leaders to pursue roadmap changes and build system solutions. Manage and accountable for Tech Budget in Merchandising space. Translate business strategies into product strategies, roadmaps, and product specifications, delivering customer benefits and meeting financial goals. Report on key KPIs for Business performance through the IT Platform. Understand and follow the Agile methodology for product improvements and initiatives. Work with Managers/Engineers to enforce standard agile build process and documentation. Introduce/Adapt/Drive new technology and help build scalable systems. We’re excited about you if you have:

 

12+ years of retail industry system experience managing application product management / business systems analysis for a Merchandising domain in a fast-paced retail company. Ability to lead and deliver a multi-year roadmap for merchandising functions using latest technology or tools. 7+ years of experience building and managing teams of Senior Manager/Managers, technical leads, and Business Analysts. Experience guiding, coaching and managing full-time and contract resources (i.e. assigning/reviewing work, setting and adjusting priorities and evaluating work performance). Ability to clearly communicate with senior level executives, business stakeholders, and technology teams. Strong experience with merchandising business functions like Assortment, Space Management, New product launch, Brand engagement in a dual channel (Stores and Dotcom) retail company is must. Knowledge of Top-tier Merchandising solutions like Blue Yonder Floor/Space/Planning or fully grown in-house applications are desired. Knowledge building/functional designing Merchandising applications using Front-end technologies such as Micro Front Ends, JavaScript Frameworks like React. Strong IT Product/Engineering experience with in-depth functional understanding of Merchandising business with dual channel (Retail and Dotcom). Strong awareness of latest technologies available that can help build IT applications (Including web based, GenAI, Machine Learning). Strong understanding of Analytics and building analytics to help business perform better are desired. Experience delivering technology products/services in a high growth environment with demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirements. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at same time desired. Experience in the Retail sector is a must, specially Merchandising. Experience with hands-on technology work in early part of career is desired. Experience with accountability for Capex budget This role will provide budget tracking and managing spend for a merchandising domain working directly with the VP of Technology. Prior experience managing $MM capex budgets is required. Develop KPIs, metrics, and reporting to communicate the status of the Product/Engineering delivery life cycle, overall systems health, stability, compliance, service levels, and product backlogs for internal stakeholders and executives. Expertise in enhancing/Building large-scale enterprise technology supply chain solutions using SAS or on-Premises. Our tech footprint to support merchandising is a balanced home-grown applications and Vendor provided customized solutions. Bachelor’s degree in computer or business or related field and / or equivalent experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is $223,560.00 - $245,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.  Sephora offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, which includes comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a superior 401(k) plan, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and an employee referral bonus program.
