**Job Description**
The director is responsible for the successful operation of the federally funded Educational Talent Search Department. Responsibilities include short and long-range planning; budget management; federal reporting and accountability; staff training and supervision; direct student services; curriculum development; and collaboration with partner schools and community organizations. The Director communicates with the U.S. Department of Education on a regular basis and is responsible for ensuring that all applicable federal regulations are followed. They are responsible for providing services as described in the grant and submitting annual reports and budgets to the U.S. Department of Education and documenting all services and budget expenditures according to federal regulations.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Master’s degree in Education, Counseling/Student Personnel or related field (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
+ Minimum of five years of experience working in teaching, counseling or advising
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience working with disadvantaged youth (middle school through high school)
+ Previous experience with supervision; preference with grant programs such as TRIO
+ Demonstrated ability to work with persons underrepresented in education
+ Demonstrated experience with grant and budget management
+ Knowledge of TRIO programs, Higher Education Act, federal regulations of the U.S. Department of Education, FERPA and mandatory reporting regulations
+ First-hand experience or working knowledge of barriers faced by low income/first generation students
+ Strong and positive written, interpersonal and oral communication skills
+ Considerable knowledge of student development (middle school through college), financial aid, career and college readiness, and admissions

+ Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
+ Experience with program design, management and implementation
+ Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
+ Ability to work weekends, evenings, and overnight as required
