Activities

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management: Lead a team of Developers and Senior Developers to advance our project portfolio from contract execution to notice to proceed (NTP).Development Leadership: Oversee all development activities, including site acquisition, due diligence, real estate perfection, and compliance with environmental, local, state, and federal permitting requirements. Conduct related site studies, engage with community members, coordinate interconnection activities, and lead customer meetings.Consultant Management: Manage third-party consultants to support the aforementioned development activities.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical, engineering, construction, finance, and asset management teams to drive development activities.Leadership and Direction: Provide guidance to development team members and cross-functional teams to effectively manage project budgets, schedules, development risks, customer contract changes, project valuation assumptions, and other essential functions for mid-stage projects.Landowner Negotiations: Coordinate and negotiate financeable lease/purchase options and site control agreements with landowners, including supervising local land agents.Market Development: Develop and oversee new market and greenfield development strategies within specified regions to support virtual net metering and other innovative offers for TotalEnergies’s commercial customers.CRM Maintenance: Maintain the CRM system to review strategy and report on development activities.Project Handover: Participate in the handover process to the Construction team.Competitive Analysis: Assist in developing competitive offtake pricing and conducting competitive analysis when applicable.Project Finance Coordination: Prepare materials for project finance and sell-down activities.Budget and Planning: Contribute to TEDGUS Budget and Long-Term Plan exercises and implementation.

Join Our Team as a Director, Development at TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC!

Are you passionate about renewable energy and ready to make a significant impact? TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC is expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector, and we are looking for a dedicated Director, Development to join our team. This exciting role involves developing a portfolio of large and complex BTM solar and BESS projects from contract execution to NTP.

Qualifications:

Education: 4-year degree, Master’s preferred.Experience:7-10 years in renewable energy development (at least 2 years in large BTM or utility scale solar/storage)Demonstrated experience in land development, entitlement, permitting and interconnection Knowledge of environmental regulations, governmental rules, incentives and market trends that impact project development in CAISO, ERCOT, PJM and other target markets Experience negotiating and managing commercial project agreements including MSAs, PPAs, EPCs, LOIs, lease/tolling agreements and O&M contracts  A proven track record as team leader and/or lead developer with solar and storage projects 5-100MWs in size Hands-on experience managing projects, people, and strategic objectives simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day to dayExperience leading direct reports in multiple regions, and mentoring junior colleaguesSkills:Team oriented with a positive disposition Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and present to diverse audiences.Subject matter expertise (e.g., real estate, finance, environmental, permitting, tax abatements) and Project Management Professional certification highly valued Experience and expertise with MS Office (word, excel), MS Project and PowerPoint. Other Requirements:Willingness to travel as needed.
