Job Summary

The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the global compliance team and the primary compliance resource supporting Flex’s Americas operations, including leading ethics investigations in the region.  We expect this team member to be a leader working collaboratively with regional legal and business partners to provide compliance guidance companywide, including to Flex’s corporate and site executive leadership team.   The position ideally will be located in Flex’s Austin, Texas headquarters, but the San Francisco/San Jose area may also be considered for the right candidate. The role will report to the VP, Global Compliance who is located in San Jose, California (US).

What a typical day looks like:

Be an active contributor to the global compliance team in developing and supporting programs, training and regular communications with senior executivesProvide substantive management of matrixed teams investigating allegations of violations of Flex’s code of conduct and other corporate policiesExercise ownership of investigation findings and reportsCommunicate with senior executives on investigation results and advise on disciplinary actions and remediationPartner with local, regional and global HR resources to drive compliance goalsMaintain expertise in regulatory compliance matters, with an emphasis on optimal compliance program management to mitigate riskImplement the global corporate compliance program in the region and beyond, including partnering with corporate headquarters and business clients on effective policies, training, and communicationManage Flex’s global anticorruption and antibribery program, including due diligence and gift and entertainment systemsApprise company executives at regional and global level of legal and risk management issues and propose appropriate strategies for addressing themDevelop strategies and ensure adequate implementation to respond to audits, subpoenas, and ethics investigationsManage internal client relationships and assist in the resolution of competing interests amongst stakeholders
 

Here is what we're looking to add to our team:

JD from an accredited institution and bar certification or the ability to obtain an in-house license in the appropriate jurisdiction10 years post-qualification experienceExpertise in areas of investigation and complianceExperience with anticorruption lawsAbility to interact with business clients at senior levels of managementSelf-motivated, team player with proven ability to identify legal issues, manage priorities in a fast-paced environmentFluent (written and spoken) EnglishWilling to travel

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

Spanish and/or Portuguese language proficiencyA combination of work experience in both a major law firm or a large multinational legal department
