THE ROLE
As Director, Climate & Energy, you will lead the implementation of Live Nation's global decarbonization and climate resilience strategy with an initial focus on operational emissions (Scope 1 & 2) related to our venues, festivals, and offices. This role will report into the Sr. Director Global Sustainability and work with cross-functional teams including legal, finance, procurement, operations, risk, compliance and more to develop and deliver a comprehensive and sound strategy that delivers against our sustainability goals while assuring the company is prepared for and compliant with external mandates. This role offers flexible job location within the United States.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Lead global decarbonization strategy and implementation: Manage our global decarbonization strategy across our portfolio of 200+ venues, festivals, and offices worldwide. Partner with key internal and external stakeholders on the successful implementation of our strategyTrack and communicate performance against global climate targetsServe as an internal subject matter expert on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and other sustainability performance metricsClimate Risk Management: Work in partnership with global compliance and risk teams to integrate climate risk into enterprise risk management Implement climate risk mitigation strategies, key metrics and action plansDevelop climate risk mitigation plans, policies, training, and protocols to assure climate resilienceCollaborate with divisions to provide training and awareness on climate risk management best practicesSupport the development of a climate risk dashboard to record and track progress against climate risksSupport internal risk and compliance team to prioritize risks and develop controls to mitigate risks Identify risk owners and support those owners in defining their process, controls and metricsWork with risk and compliance teams to assure centralized risk register is updated and maintained including identified risks, assessments, risk owners, and mitigation plansPerform sites specific risk assessments where neededSet targets and implementation plans not covered by decarbonization target e.g. venue sustainable design standards & building energy performance standardsDevelop and implement process for tracking capital expenditures tied to climate risk management & mitigationCompliance and Environmental Reporting:Ensure the company’s environmental and climate risk practices align with regulatory guidelines; establish systems and processes for tracking internal compliance & communicating to the businessLead on the development of climate related reporting mandates including but not limited to TCFD, CDP, and SEC climate risk disclosures Compile and provide other necessary environmental data to compliance team for other external reporting requirementsCommunication and Engagement:Build strong relationships with cross-functional internal teams as well as external partners and be comfortable championing sustainability with a variety of audiences – from executives to venue and festival operations teams. Lead on internal communication with investor relations and other members of the executive team and board to provide updates on energy and climate risk for the org Exercise an acute sense of judgement and tact when navigating competing agendas and prioritiesConfidence with public speaking and presentations. At least five years of experience in climate resilience and energy management programs including responsibilities for decarbonization strategy and execution Familiarity with climate risk management and reporting frameworks like TCFDDemonstrated experience strategizing and implementing sustainability programs across a large, matrixed organization and/or working in corporate consulting with a specialty in decarbonization and climate risk managementExperience in policy development and implementationExperience driving systems change and processesExperience developing business cases and budgeting; business analytics and cost-benefit analysisStrong executive communications & stakeholder engagement including effective communication with variety of diverse stakeholders Ability to travel, including weekendsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsAcute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacyBENEFITS & PERKS

The expected compensation for this position is:
$132,000.00 USD - $165,000.00 USD** Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
