Are you ready to lead and drive growth for the top resource in the foodservice industry? As the Director of Business Development at Technomic, you’ll not only sell our research and insights but become a trusted advisor to business leaders looking to improve their strategies and results.

This role is built for sales professionals and research analysts who excel at developing new business for subscription services and have a passion for driving client success.

About the Role: As Director, your primary responsibility will be to demonstrate and sell Technomic’s Ignite platform, the leading SaaS platform designed specifically for the foodservice industry. You’ll focus on cultivating new business, developing sales strategies, and positioning Technomic’s research products as essential tools for business leaders. The goal is to become a trusted partner who helps clients enhance their business strategies through our research, insights, and strategic consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership: Develop and execute sales plans to exceed revenue goals.Business Development: Drive new business through effective prospecting and strong closing skills. You’ll use phone-based prospecting, with some travel for conferences and client meetings.Client Relationships: Build trusted, consultative relationships with business leaders. Guide clients on how Technomic’s research and consulting can transform their strategies and decision-making.Product Expertise: Articulate the capabilities of Technomic products, including Ignite, reports, and custom research projects, to align with client needs.Collaboration: Partner with internal research and insights teams to continuously innovate and ensure our offerings meet the evolving demands of the foodservice industry.Client Success: Ensure client satisfaction by acting as a liaison to consulting associates, delivering on projects that meet client expectations and timelines.

Proven Sales Success: You’ve consistently surpassed sales targets, particularly in subscription-based services. Your prospecting and closing skills are sharp.Industry Expertise: You’re comfortable selling solutions that integrate data, research, and insights, particularly in the foodservice or related industries.Strategic Thinking: You’re a big-picture thinker who understands how to align research products with business strategies.Self-Starter: You’re highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with limited travel.

Qualifications7-10 years of sales experience with a proven track record of success.Knowledge of the foodservice and retail sectors is a plus.Superior new business development and prospecting skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.Experience in selling SaaS products, with a clear understanding of value-based selling.Exceptional phone etiquette and conversational skills, able to engage and persuade clients over the phone.Proven ability to develop leads, manage the sales pipeline, and close deals in a timely manner.Self-starter with a high level of professionalism, capable of working independently and within a team.Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships.Ability to analyze client needs and align solutions to drive business results.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear, concise, and persuasive presentations.Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks while meeting tight deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for creating reports and presentations.Experience using a CRM system to track conversations, opportunities, and sales metrics.High attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on client needs and revenue goals.Flexibility to travel occasionally for conferences and client meetings.This role offers a salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 USD, along with commissions.This job posting will close on September 25, 2024.
