To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com (https://www.cibc.com/en/about-cibc.html) **What You’ll Be Doing** Reporting to the Senior Director, Compliance and EAML Examinations Program, the Director, EAML Examinations is responsible to lead the management, maintenance, reporting and administration of CIBC’s global EAML Examinations Program, including the timely resolution of deficiencies identified through the examination program. The Director will support the Senior Director whose mandate is to test the efficacy of CIBC’s AML, ATF and Sanctions Program and CIBC’s compliance with AML/ATF legislation and regulatory guidelines in all jurisdictions in which CIBC and its wholly-owned and majority-owned subsidiaries operate inside and outside of Canada. The Director will assist in planning and implementing the annual Examination plan including the development and coaching of staff. The Director will also directly manage a team of Examiners. _At CIBC, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote._ **How You’ll Succeed** + **Regulatory Oversight:** Be aware of any upcoming changes in the industry and best practice. Share that information with the businesses affected and adjust the examination program accordingly. Act as a subject matter expert responding to questions from the business and team regarding AML and Sanctions regulations, best practices and internal policies and procedures. + **Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills:** Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Have the ability to communicate effectively with different lines of business regarding the Regulations and the results of their examinations. + **Lead Examinations:** Oversee the day-to-day planning and timely execution of the AML/ATF and Sanctions examinations program. Use your well-developed skills to evaluate the effectiveness of controls in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements in all relevant jurisdictions. Recommend areas for improvements and oversee timely resolution of identified deficiencies. + **Industry Knowledge** : Actively participate in developing and maintaining relationships with peers within CIBC and at comparable financial institutions in order to stay abreast of industry developments that may affect the EAML examination programs. + **Strong Leadership** – Provide strong leadership skills to the team and ensure all team members have the opportunity to grow and expand their knowledge of all portfolios being examined. Provide a safe environment in which different opinions are welcomed. Coach, direct and motivate team members to generate high quality work. **Who You Are** + **You can demonstrate working experience taking a senior role in** **leading examinations/audits or compliance reviews.** Proficiency in the understanding and application of AML/ATF and Sanctions-related legislation is highly recommended. You have proven system/technology testing experience and an affinity for data/data analytics. + **You have a continuous improvement mindset.** You consistently look for opportunities to innovate and strengthen the existing program. + **You have a University Degree/College Diploma** or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 8 years’ experience within the regulatory compliance industry. Completion of the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist Designation or Canadian Securities Course would be considered an asset. + **You are a bold and authentic leader** .
