The hospital also offers world-class orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery, life-saving emergency care, stroke treatment, labor & delivery, and so much more As assigned by the Administrative Supervisor, under the direction of the nurse, the Direct Observer provides an environment of safety that gives the alternative to restraints. The sitter is responsible for sitting with and observing an assigned patient. No nursing care is provided. The sitter can assist with simple tasks such as reading to the patient, answering the phone, and getting ice water. Additional duties such as mouth care, feeding and ambulating can be performed only if qualified. Duties will be performed under the direction of the nurse in charge of the patient. Sitter is responsible for contacting the nurse if the patient requires anything additional. This is a Full Time, Night Shift position. Qualifications Education: - High School Diploma/GED Licensure/Certification/Registration: - BLS Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English - Psychology background preferred
