By hiring talented individuals like you, we've been able to expand quickly, with offices in Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse, Orlando, Tennessee, Maryland and Puerto Rico.  We are currently hiring Direct Care Workers to provide coverage support in our OPWDD-funded IRA Residential Programs. Relief DCWs must have on-call availability on weekends, evenings, and overnights and ability to work in both Upper Manhattan and the Bronx.  Pays $15.00-$16.00 per hour Responsibilities consist of but not limited to:Performs, supervise and assists individuals in all areas of adult daily living skillsAssist individuals in any and all activities which are designed to foster independence, personal growth andindividualizationImplement valued outcomes and all other programming methods/procedure based on the individuals rehabilitation and protective oversight plan and other QMRP documentationsEnsures the overall health and safety of the individuals by providing supervision to theindividuals as required based on the individual needs and per OPWDD regulations All staff is required to remain awake on the overnight shiftProvides ongoing care for the residents in a safe, kind and considerable mannerAccompanies and transports individuals to medical and other clinical appointments and ensure the necessary documentation are completed and return to review by the program registered nurseResponsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary residence and working environmentResponsible for conducting fire drills as scheduledResponsible for maintaining the individuals clothing, furniture, any and all personal belonging in good conditionResponsible and required to remain on the shift until the relief arrives and the shift is appropriately covered  Reports to work on timeRequired to attend all trainings and meetings as mandated by the management team or the agencyRemains sensitive and responsive to the needs, situation, and personal/cultural practices of the individualsMake purchases as needed or requested by the program or management teamReports any changes regarding any individuals physical and health condition to the supervisor immediatelyAssists in the orientation of new staffSafely Operate agencies vehicle for residential appointments or any other individual needs which may require the utilization of the agency vehicleReads, initial and enter required information on the communication log as well as other documentations as requiredEducation/ License:High School Diploma or GED requiredSCIP, AMAP, First Aid and CPR preferredValid NYS driver's license preferredDept. of Justice clearance requiredQualifications:Minimum 1 year of experience working with OPWDD individuals or other human service fieldStrong leadership, excellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work on a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environmentAbility to multitask and to work and function under pressureBilingual Spanish RequiredBenefits: We offer to the chosen candidate a generous compensation package! *Acacia network is an Equal Opportunity Employer*
