The Associate Director/Director of Strategic Pricing and Commercial Insights is responsible for applying analytical methodologies to deepen insights and inform business decisions. The Director will be a key member of teams responsible for the development and execution of Kedron's US and global strategy. It will include internal and external analysis to assist in the growth of its portfolio. This role includes insights into market dynamics, pricing, sales forecasting, and profitability. Key partners include marketing, finance, planning, logistics, and sales.
In this role, you will:
Partner with Global Marketing & Global business intelligence and regional teams to integrate data, develop analytical methods, and generate insights to help make well informed business decisions and creating opportunities and recommendations to respond to those challenges.Analyze and implement methods to improve upon agency fees including distributor fees, gpo fees, rebates, government pricing programs, and other fees that make up the difference between gross and net sales. Proactively analyze and interpret data on ASP/ WACS, Reimbursement models to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Leverage insights from these analyses to guide strategic pricing decisions that enhance profitability and market position.Conduct thorough and ongoing competitor analyses, focusing on their pricing strategies, to understand market dynamics and competitive positioning. Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to develop and implement pricing strategies that align with broader business objectives, ensure competitiveness, and maximizes revenue / profit. This cross-functional approach ensures that pricing decisions are grounded in a holistic understanding of the business.Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams on contracting strategies ensuring contracts are aligned with the pricing strategy. Ensure contract performance is adhered to and payments/discounts are accurate based on performance against contracts. At least quarterly meet with each brand manager to discuss current internal and external pricing, contracting, ASP, etc. Design and implement a strategic pricing framework across all brands. This framework, grounded in market and financial analysis, balances competitive considerations with profitability objectives, enabling more effective and strategic pricing decisions. Lead the development of a sophisticated internal pricing and membership system (Mediledger). This system centralizes all pricing data, facilitating easy updates to pricing strategies and ensuring all team members have access to the most current pricing information. Serve as the central point of contact for all matters related to pricing. This includes providing strategic direction, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring all pricing decisions align with our broader business objectives.Regularly optimize pricing strategies based on a range of factors including market conditions, sales objectives, product lifecycle, and customer segmentation. Conduct profitability analysis for each product using real data on COT, contract utilization, etc. Using these insights to guide pricing decisions and to predict their impact on overall business performance.Partner with 3PL and the manager of forecasting to make sure shipments to distributors and other customers (SPs, hospitals, etc.) are aligned with the forecast and strategyCollaborate with Marketing and Finance teams to develop and implement new analytical methodologies to achieve targeted results. This includes commercial analytics around new commercial business development opportunities and profitability. These will be ad hoc situations based upon when and where the opportunities arrive from Business Development.Continually refine data and system needs and monitor performance and share results with the field organization, marketing, finance, and other internal stakeholders.Collaborate with Global IT and Sales Operations to identify and support the development of software solutions when applicable. People management. Direct oversight of the Analyst position. This includes direction, continuous monitoring of performance and objectives, feedback, development, etc.Requirements:
10+ years’ experience within the pharmaceutical industry
Bachelor's degree required. Additional advanced degree desirable.
Current or recent pricing experience is preferred.
Experience in supporting and interacting with executive management
Strong track record in understanding pricing, building models, making pricing recommendations, profitability, competitor analysis, etc.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Ability to think creatively and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
