Digital Education Production & Web Content Specialist
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking a customer-service focused professional to perform digital education production duties, while serving as a resource in the development, production, and maintenance of digital education products. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Education Production, this role will provide technical and maintenance support for PediaLink content on AAP.org; collaborate with the AAP.org editorial team to stay current on editorial trends; and evaluate and synthesize content on PediaLink to ensure optimal learner engagement. Some tasks include: + Maintain and update PediaLink on the AAP.org website, including images, graphics, page layouts, forms, and other site functionality, ensuring that all content follows SEO best practices and adheres to website governance and style guides. + Respond and troubleshoot PediaLink website issues and work with IT staff and site editors to solve technical issues. + Collaborate with the PediaLink staff in ensuring the website follows AAP.org editorial trends, meeting learner needs and improving user engagement. + Assist with the development, maintenance, and support of all digital education courses, programs, and content offerings. + Work in collaboration with appropriate staff to coordinate and complete course/content builds. + Prepare content and assets, including videos, media, tables, and images, to American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) style and editorial guidelines/standards for use in AAP educational online products. + Create redirect links and maintain accuracy of all internal and external links within courses and on AAP.org by running regularly scheduled link checks and correcting all errors. + Perform usability and quality assurance tests on interface design, new functionality, and layouts to ensure cross-browser compatibility and consistent site functionality. + Coordinate the setup, delivery, and testing of Maintenance of Certification eligible AAP activities and the AAP Transcript system. + Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). + Assist Education & Global Health and Member & Customer Care staff in trouble shooting high level customer service inquiries. + Communicate and collaborate with IT staff and other AAP departments as needed. + Provide technical support to subject matter experts on the publishing platform. + Cross train with appropriate staff as assigned. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualified candidates will possess: + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, digital publishing, digital communications, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. + At least two years’ related experience in the coordination, development, and support of web-based, educational projects. Experience working with content management systems (CMS), learning management systems (LMS), and Google Analytics, and executing basic coding required. Experience in mobile application support, coordination, and delivery preferred. + Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, customer service, and oral/written communication skills required. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, take initiative, pay close attention to detail, work both independently and as part of a team, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Advanced technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office, website maintenance software (e.g., SharePoint), CMS, LMS, and databases as well as knowledge of coding systems (e.g., HTML, XML, CSS) and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Webex, Teams) preferred. Some overtime, evening/weekend work, and travel required. Hybrid working arrangement of 40% on-site at our Chicago suburb headquarters in Itasca, IL.
