**Job Title: Diesel Technician**
**Job Description**
This position is for a Diesel Technician who will primarily be responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) on forklifts, tractor trailers, trucks, and other heavy machinery. The role involves conducting thorough inspections, checking tires, adding oil, and brake fluid, among other tasks similar to car maintenance but on a larger scale. Additionally, the technician will handle reactive maintenance tasks such as changing out brakes, addressing DOT failures, and replacing shocks.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts, tractor trailers, trucks, and other heavy machinery.
+ Conduct inspections and maintenance tasks, including checking tires, adding oil, and brake fluid.
+ Handle reactive maintenance tasks such as changing out brakes, addressing DOT failures, and replacing shocks.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to understand machinery specifications and maintenance requirements.
+ Utilize own tools for mechanical repairs and maintenance.
**Essential Skills**
+ 6 years of experience as a diesel technician.
+ Diagnostic experience.
+ Aftermarket experience.
+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks.
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Own tools for mechanical repairs.

**Work Environment**
The position is based in a maintenance shop within a distribution center. This is a first shift position with working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
