Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Duties may include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
Responsibilities:
– Diagnose and repair diesel engines, as well as mechanical and electrical systems on vehicles and equipment
– Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
– Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues, and develop repair plans
– Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and regulations
– Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed
– Follow manufacturer guidelines for repairs and maintenance procedures
– Test driving vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs
Requirements:
Grade 12 or similar qualification Trade Test Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in diesel mechanics, preferably within the mining or heavy machinery sector Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues Proficient in using tools and diagnostic equipment Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Valid driver’s license Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment Vehicles: Excavators, Loaders, Fork-lifts, Side loaders, Trucks, Tractors, LDVs. CAT machines experience with KRESS & TML attachments is a plus. Advanced Hydraulic and Auto Electrical experience required. Workshop and Field Work: Preventative, breakdown, and planned maintenance. Shift Work and Standby Duty may be required. Overtime as needed. Forklift and Overhead Crane Licences are a plus.Contact Hire Resolve for your next career-changing move.
