Responsibilities:
– Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
– Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, such as fuel system malfunctions, electrical problems, and transmission issues
– Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines to identify potential problems and prevent future breakdowns
– Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair diesel engine issues
– Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed on diesel engines
– Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working on diesel engines
Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification Trade Test: Diesel Mechanic Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel engines and related components Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and repair issues Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Valid driver’s license Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a minimum of 2 years work experience. Knowledge of GSE, heavy goods vehicles and earth moving equipment is an advantage. Ability to communicate and develop a good working relationship with various departments, airport authority members and managers at all levels. A valid code 10, C1, C, EC1 or EC driver’s license.
