Program Summary
KBR provides full-spectrum base operations support to Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, a remote location in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Our robust supply chain ensures on-time delivery of mission-critical supplies, and our team conducts essential port and airfield operations in this geographically complex environment. The KBR team is over 1,000 people strong, providing not only life support services such as water treatment, electricity, and telecom/antenna maintenance, but also quality of life services like Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) and an award-winning dining facility.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Firefighter to join our team, responsible for performing critical firefighting, rescue, and emergency services in both structural and crash fire rescue operations. The ideal candidate will be cross-trained in a variety of fire rescue and tactical procedures, provide direct support during emergency situations, and ensure the operational readiness of fire equipment and systems. This role involves teamwork, effective communication, and maintaining a safe workplace while supporting the achievement of organizational goals and metrics.
Roles and Responsibilities
Participate in structural and crash fire rescue tactical procedures and provide support during emergency incidents.Actively contribute as a positive team member and conform to the BOSS contract Performance Work Statement.Maintain a safe workplace with a priority on safety. Ensure that emergency equipment is operational and ready as per NFPA or other industry standards.Maintain and clean personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in the cleaning of other equipment and facilities.Conduct fire inspections, pre-incident planning, and ensure facilities are safe, with appropriate documentation and tracking.Operate computerized fire alarm receiving equipment and two-way radio communications.Perform property control, logistical duties, and administrative tasks such as equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling, and coordination of appointments.Serve on rescue units, engine companies, and respond to structural fires, rescues, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies.Track and support organizational metrics, contributing to the achievement of BOSS Contract objectives.Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and stakeholders to ensure operational success.Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors, Incident Commanders, Fire Chief, or other Command Staff.Basic Qualifications
Must be a US CitizenDemonstrated firefighter knowledge and skillsMust pass the Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) annually.Must participate in the Physical Fitness Program (DoDI 6055.06).Ability to work effectively with a diverse team, including multinational staff and military personnel.Strong judgment, discretion, and communication skills (oral and written) in English.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.Must hold a country and Government driver's license.Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).Ability to pass the annual firefighter Occupational Health Exam and SCBA Fit Testing, meeting NFPA 1500, 1582, and 1583 standards.Preferred Qualifications
