Diagnostic Technologist
Mercy Outpatient facility in search of an enthusiastic person to work in a fast-paced work environment to work as a diagnostic tech/ x-ray tech/ rad tech. Job responsibilities include drawing blood, preparing lab specimens, performing EKGs, and imaging patients. Imaging duties includes c-arm operation, working in orthopedic offices, and general x-rays. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6am- 5pm, 8 hour shifts. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the career ladder based on their individual experience and education. **Responsibilities:** + Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. + Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I. + Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable. + Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures. + Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. + Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. + Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. + Assist with the training of staff and student technologists. Diagnostic Tech: + Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. Diagnostic Tech Adv: + 2 years Diagnostic experience required. + Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + ARRT certified in Radiography. + CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire + ARRT Certificate + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
