DFW Airport Construction Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

Perform project management activities as assigned by and in support of Construction Manager / DirectorConduct budget and schedule managementParticipate in activities of Design and Construction Teams consisting of the Architects, Engineers, Project and Construction Managers, Planners, and other consultantsDeliver day-to-day project tracking and communication with the client and project teamPrepare and distribute meeting notes to the project teamProvide direction to the project team on behalf of the ownerDevelop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the projectReview and track all contracts, invoices, and payments to all contractors, consultants, and equipment vendorsSupport the preparation of frequent report to the ownerAssist in plan reviews and inspections with the Authorities Having JurisdictionParticipate in the negotiation of contracts of all parties to the projectAssist in project close out activitiesReview all invoices and change orders associated with the projectAssist in resolving disputes and claimsReports to Construction Manager / Project Director

Capabilities and Credentials

Strong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet,, Microsoft Suite, and other basic softwareUnderstanding of and ability to read plans and specificationsGeneral understanding of design and construction process and requirementsGood interpersonal skillsGood written and oral communication skillsGood organizational skills and problem-solving abilitiesCurrent driver’s license, ability to obtain airport security badge, and passing required security background check is required

This position works primarily in an office setting and includes some work on construction sites.  Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management or equivalentA combination of Bachelor’s Degree in other areas combined with 2-5 years’ experience in an Assistant Construction Manager (Construction Coordinator) / Assistant Project Manager role in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or Facilities Management will also be consideredNew college graduates considered, requiring strong Co-op and/or Internship experience within applicable Engineering, Architecture, and Construction firms preferred
