DevOps Engineer Internship

Location: Richardson, Texas

A DevOps Engineer Intern works as an integrated part of the software engineering team with specific focus on delivering software products into a hybrid environment. Additional opportunities will include learning about and implementing continuous delivery systems, the software development life cycle, and engineering support. This position will be mentored by a senior engineer for the duration of the internship.

As a DevOps Engineer Intern, a Typical Day Might Include the Following:

Helping define and develop continuous integration and deployment pipelines Learning to build “Infrastructure as Code” Assisting in coordinating build and release activities with other stakeholders Working with team members to develop application and performance metrics Updating, writing and managing JIRA stories throughout the software development life cycle Helping troubleshoot and respond to environment downtime and performance degradation

Completion of upper-level courses in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent work experience or training Willingness to learn and take on new challenges You are a problem solver, a fixer, and a creative technologist Ability to learn independently and from others Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members and peers abroad Programming or scripting experience (Java, Gradle, Python, Shell, Bash)

Bonus Experience: 

Experience with Docker, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Experience with Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Experience with source control systems, build tools and frameworks (svn, bitbucket, gradle, cmake, jenkins) Experience with security protocols and standards Experience with infrastructure & networking
