DevOps Engineer

 

 

Role Details: CBS Digital is seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to support various teams across multiple cloud providers and SaaS solutions. The role involves delivering high-visibility events such as Super Bowl, Golden Globes, and national news events, as well as supporting major product initiatives, updates, and launches. Governance responsibilities include ensuring security response, incident management, optimizing spend, maintaining compliance, and driving business continuity efforts. Ancillary responsibilities include oversight of SaaS and cloud administration, ensuring the efficient operation of these systems. To succeed in this role, you'll need hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes (and other serverless technologies), infrastructure as code, security response, observability, configuration management, devops automation, development lifecycle management, frontend (CDN, Load balancing, etc.) and backend (DB, caching, etc.) delivery/management, and agile methodologies. Your Day-to-Day: Responsible for service requests. Incident response and problem resolution. Assist development teams with automations including continuous integration and delivery as well as ensuring observability of said integrations. Assist development teams with infrastructure deployment and code delivery. Will be expected to maintain and participate in PagerDuty rotation and schedule. Delivery and support of shared services and resources. Review and assist in security & compliance audits and remediation as it relates to respective team accounts. Provide devops consultation to help improve team autonomy. Develop documentation and presentations for peer review. Key Projects:

In this role you will be responsible for such things as automating cloud security remediations, working closelyt with teams to improve efficient through workload migrations and infrastructure administration, provide coverage on a wide variety of CBS Digital event; including the NCAA Tournament, future Super Bowls, Champions League/Europa League Soccer, Masters Golf Tournament, SEC College Football, national elections and entertainment award shows. As well as working to improve and extend our shared services catalog.

What you bring to the team:

You have –

2+ years of experience working as devops engineer or in a comparable role. 2+ years working knowledge of AWS (or equivalent) 2+ years working closely with security teams to improve, automate and remediate security concerns issues in cloud environments. 1-2 years of scripting in a variety of languages (Bash, Python, Node, etc.) 1 - 2 years in monitoring & logging technologies including agent, agentless, synthetic, etc and are able to identify bottlenecks and assist with debugging, analysis, and optimization 2 years working with automation, CI/CD, configuration management and GitOps concepts.

You might also have –

Cloud or related certifications. Experience working with Kubernetes Led multi account structures in cloud environments, serverless frameworks, concepts and architectures Strong background in Linux/Unix & Windows Administration Experience with mySQL, postgresql and MongoDB (or DocumentDB) Knowledge of VCL (varnish) or alternative CDN DSLs Understanding of gitflow Experience with terraform, cloud formation or the like
