DevOps Engineer
Description:
The DevOps engineer will provide consulting to our clients on strategic direction and in an effort to help them improve their software development efficiency and quality through improved management and automation. The successful candidate will have good customer-facing skills and should be versed in the principles and tools typically used to support an agile development environment, especially the development toolchain to enable/support build automation.
You’ll apply your past experience with all aspects of technical operations to develop innovative approaches to simplify and streamline the DevOps processes to introduce or enhance DevOps automation, improve efficiency, and minimize errors. You’ll work closely with the Development and QA teams to provide continuous improvement of existing processes and capabilities.
Required Experience:
• Self-starter, desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conducting technical discussions and working in a collaborative/consultative manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience completing a full development lifecycle/SDLC.
• Experience developing, configuring, integrating DevOps related tools.
• Experience with system automation, scripting and deployment tools: Chef, Puppet.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving application and system related issues.
• Experience with virtualization, Server & Application provisioning.
• AWS experience strongly desired.
Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel including executive management. You should have a software engineering background and a strong understanding of systems internals, and have a passion for building and running massive-scale data-warehousing solutions and application environments. Must be organized, task-oriented and able to manage changing priorities. Must be able to work both independently or in a team environment. Must be able to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary.
Required Education:
BA/BS degree in Information Technology, or IT equivalent work experience required.
