DevOps Engineer

Position Summary
TRSS is a small (350 person), dynamic, technology-heavy, security-focused environment where members of the IT team make contributions in a variety of areas. All team members perform system support and help maintain various applications. After-hours support and system maintenance are required at times. This position will primarily support infrastructure and application automation initiatives, CI/CD pipeline creation and management, and collaborating with developers, IT operations, and security.

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you will also contribute to a variety of areas including:

Configure, deploy, harden, document, administer, and troubleshoot containerized applications and container orchestration platforms.Establish, monitor, and maintain secure configuration baselines for container imagesAdminister and interface with cloud and on-premises services such as DNS, Active Directory, Certificate authorities, and load balancersConfigure, monitor, update, and troubleshoot on-premises and cloud-based Linux applicationsWork well both independently and with teammates from multiple departmentsCommunicate well with users and teammatesResearch and implement solutions to problems and document solutionsPerform after-hours maintenance and support as neededStay up to date on the latest best practices and security benchmarks for relevant infrastructure

About You

You’re a good fit for the role of DevOps Engineer if you have:

Strong Linux backgroundExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and end-to-end container lifecycle management (image building, scanning, deploying, troubleshooting, and monitoring).Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and AnsibleExperience troubleshooting multi-layered technical problems relating to DNS, certificates, and authentication/authorization issuesExperience deploying web applications in an enterprise/production environmentExperience with AWS and familiarity with common AWS service offeringsGit and CI/CD experience (such as GitHub Actions/Jenkins)Able to manage tickets and create easy to follow documentationAble to follow documented procedures with attention to detailAble to manage time and resources to deliver on projectsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance


Bonus Skills:

Strong security background including knowledge of static and dynamic application security testingKnowledge of security baselines such as STIGs and CIS benchmarksApplication development experience (Python, Node, etc.)
