Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team! For this position, our client is looking for someone with early to mid-career experience that can be hands on rather than someone who is currently in a Manager or similar-like position. The DevOps Engineer is pivotal in enhancing our client's development, deployment, and operational processes. The primary responsibilities will include automating workflows, managing virtualized environments, maintaining operating systems, and developing robust CI/CD pipelines focusing on automated and security testing. Additionally, the position provides operational support for customer deployments, occasionally during off-hours.

Automation:Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operational tasksImplement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similarImplement and manage automated testing frameworks to ensure code reliabilityIncorporate security testing tools and practices to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities early in the development processDesign, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub ActionsIntegrate automated testing and security testing into the CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality and securityOperating System Maintenance:Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches on Linux and Windows serversMonitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliabilityVirtualization Environments:Build, manage, and maintain virtualized environments, using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and VMwareOptimize and scale virtual environments to meet evolving business needsOperational Support:Provide operational support for customer deployments, ensuring successful implementation of software solutionsBe available for occasional off-hours support to address critical issues and ensure continuous service availabilityWork closely with development, QA, and IT teams to ensure seamless delivery of software projectsProvide support and guidance to team members on best practices for DevOps and automation

Requirements

Proven experience in the above areas of responsibilitiesStrong knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, VMware)Proficiency in maintaining Linux and Windows operating systemsHands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and security testing toolsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related fieldExperience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)Certification in relevant DevOps or cloud technologiesCurrently possess an active Secret clearance
