About the  Team

You will collaborate in a dynamic and self-driven team who is passionated about development and cloud infrastrcuture. The role will provide technical leadership to high risk / high business impact projects / technical developments across territories.

Will provide functional leadership and hands on within own discipline, leading or contributing to appropriate corporate engineering and technology strategies.  Will coach and mentor other employees in their discipline across the business

The Main Responsibilities

Subject Matter Expertise / the main responsbilities

·   Provide technical support to the project delivery organisation throughout the project lifecycle

·    Identify breakthrough and emerging technologies, or devise improvements in existing technologies, that can be successfully applied to give business benefit.

·   Recognise where there are gaps between business needs and known and emerging technologies, and develop strategies to close technology gaps.

·   Assess the likely success and benefits of technologies and gain support and commitment to these opportunities from senior management.

·    The role will interact with the following technologies on a daily basis:

-         AWS or any other cloud service (required services but not limited to: console, cli, EC2, S3, IAM, r53, DynamoDB, Lambda, RDS, ECR, networking)

-         IaC – Deploy cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform or any other provider.

-      GitHub Actions Development – writing up new actions as per business needs. E.g. composite or dockerized.

-      Documenting any new development or feature.

-      PoC and innovation – This role must bring new ideas to the table that allow the organization to achieve business success, it will implement innovation projects and PoCs.

-      Linux solid experience.

·      Ensure that appropriate processes and standards are developed and deployed (including training, education and awareness).

 

Project Technical Management

·      Act as the SME on projects.

·     Work collaboratively with (and where necessary manage) technical and business resources from internal and external sources, to ensure that appropriate technical solutions are specified and delivered.

·    Evaluate the technical competence of the external design and engineering staff employed on projects and technical developments to ensure they have the necessary skills to meet the needs of the project / technical development.

Design and implement cloud solutions following best practices in security and code patterns

Requirements

-     Relevant technical degree or equivalent.

-     AWS experience with (but not limited) EC2, S3, IAM, r53, DynamoDB, Lambda, RDS, ECR, Networking

-     GitHub Actions Development – Create and maintain GitHub Actions developed in house

-     Python

-     IaC with Terraform

-     GitHub reusable workflows.

-     Linux

-     A proven track record of working in engineering technologies with the technical expertise and ability to make connections between technology and delivering business value. Pharma sector is a plus.

-    Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills with AZ teams, peers and third party suppliers.

-     Ability to develop and champion innovation opportunities and lead any changes.

-    Experience of managing/delivering the engineering technology aspects of projects / technology developments

Desirable

-         Ability to work in diverse multinational teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes

-         Experience in Docker, Jira, NodeJS, EKS, AWS Amplify, Artifactory, SonarQube.

-         Knowledge of Lean design processes and their application.
