Development Tester
Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Development Tester to join our team. As a Development Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. This role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with developers to resolve issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.

This position can be located anywhere in the US, but the preferred locations are Fairfax, VA, Lafayette, LA, or Knoxville, TN.
If you are located within 50 miles of a CGI Federal office, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive automated test plans and test cases for software applications.

Identify, document, and track defects and issues using appropriate tools and methodologies.

Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure thorough testing coverage.

Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

Automate test cases using relevant tools and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Analyze test results, identify trends, and provide detailed reports on the quality of the software.

Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.

Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and quality assurance.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in automated software testing or quality assurance.

Strong understanding of automated software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.

Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, specifically Cypress

Experience with API testing, such as XML ingest

Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Proficiency in using defect tracking and test management tools, such as Azure DevOps.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Google Cloud Build

Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience with performance testing tools, such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

Familiarity with programming languages, such as Java, Python, or C#.

Experience with Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies
