Drive activities that will result in sizable investments in the University s ambitious plans and projects. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying opportunities and planning approaches within the national and international Trusts and Foundations sector to secure significant funding to support Wits projects and initiatives.
The incumbent will be expected to solicit gifts directly or craft asks for others as appropriate as well as craft enticing, appropriate proposals and fundraising collateral across a wide range of media.
Brief DescriptionKey Responsibilities:

Identifying national and international Trusts and Foundations sector trends and innovations that yield secure investments/donations to the University Identifying and securing new sector investment for the University s priority projects Coordinating institutional strategies that will be appealing to current and new investors in the sector Ensure high-level stewardship of existing investors and actively re-engaging past investors in the sector High-level attention to the process of formulating, writing and submitting business propositions as required Contribute to the continued expansion of the prospect database, its accuracy and the quality and application of its data
Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree, or equivalent relevant qualifications 5 years fundraising or related work experience (preferably in the university/donor environment) 3-5 Years work experience with national and international Trusts and Philanthropies Proven success in securing significant levels of revenue for projects such as university infrastructure, research programmes and bursaries Have experience in development, fundraising, public relations, and/ or marketing work Have experience and proven competencies in strategic insight and participation in large projects Understanding of investor and donor markets, both nationally and internationallyWork experience in a Higher Education Environment.
