Summary of Role: GlobalFoundries' Research and Development and Product Line Organizations are looking for students with experience in gallium nitride ( GaN ) device s and/or magnetics . We are seeking experience in device engineering and/or TCAD /Spice simulations for these p ower devices . Successful applicants will join the gfLABS team and partner with experts in power devices . Students in Masters or Ph.D. programs are strongly preferred . Essential Responsibilities include: + In-depth study on bidirectional GaN switch devices: assess the key technology options, tradeoffs and requirements across voltage ranges for different end applications. + In-depth study of integrated magnetics technologies for power applications. Assessment of fundamental performance limits of deposited magnetics technology, and suitability of either monolithic or heterogenous integration with CMOS technologies. + Assessment of process and design impact on existing technology baseline. + Close cooperation with gfLabs , Product Development and design teams to assess the feasibility of device demonstration. Other Responsibilities: + Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. Required Qualifications: + A ctively pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D in engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship . + Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing. + Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) + Ability to work at least 4 0 hours per week for 10-12 weeks. Preferred Qualifications: + Prior related internship or co-op experience + Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. + Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Strong planning & organizational skills #InternshipProgram US Expected Salary Range $20.00 - $40.00 Expected Salary Range $0.00 - $0.00 The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
