What you'll do:

SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, aspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure.
SAP will be working on the public funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Operating System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should consider applying.

What you bring:

We are seeking an innovative, communicative, and self-driven individual with technical competence. Your expertise in cloud techniques, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service, containers, orchestration, and automation, is highly valued. You should also have a passion for continuous learning and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Additionally, you bring the following qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Extensive experience in designing and developing cloud architectures, including public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, with a strong focus on scalability and security. Proficiency in integrating cloud services into existing systems and applications, ensuring seamless operation across the organization's IT infrastructure. Strong understanding of cloud security practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance with industry standards like GDPR and ISO 27001. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design solutions that meet business requirements while optimizing for performance and cost.

The SAP Converged Cloud is a private cloud solution managed by SAP. It is an internal Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform deployed worldwide in 17 regions to support all of SAP’s cloud businesses on a global scale.
