We take the lead in designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge infrastructure automation solutions that drive SAP's leading cloud services, such as Business Technology Platform and Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS). The Role

Imagine a world where IT infrastructure manages itself.  As a Cloud Infrastructure Orchestration and Automation Developer in our team, you'll be making this vision a reality. You'll work on high-impact projects, building the automation framework that powers the deployment of SAP cloud offerings across multiple cloud environments – from hyperscalers to SAP's own data centers.

 

What you will do:

Develop cutting-edge prototypes: Design and develop innovative solutions that bridge our automation tools with public IaaS providers, enabling seamless deployment of infrastructure and services.

Drive solutions to production:  Take ownership of transforming ideas into production-ready solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and integration with existing operational processes.

Contribute to championing knowledge sharing: Conduct knowledge transfer sessions empowering the team to effectively manage and utilize the solutions we build.

Shape the future of automation: Contribute to the development of a truly "no-touch" IT infrastructure landscape, leveraging automation and AI to manage cloud infrastructure at scale.

Ensure business continuity: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and maintain up-to-date documentation throughout the development lifecycle

Experience / Role Requirements

Proven experience in software development is essential, specifically requiring 3 to 7 years of experience and a solid understanding of distributed system architecture, with a particular focus on web application architecture.

It would be a plus if you have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with a solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming concepts.

 

Your expertise and technical skills encompass, but are not limited to:

Mastery of programming languages such as Perl, Python, and JavaScript

Familiar with agile software development frameworks and methods

Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub, GitLab)

Good understanding of software architecture styles and patterns

General web services development skills HTTP/HTTPS, RESTful APIs, Open API, Swagger

Good knowledge and experience with microservices architecture, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes

Familiar with Linux operating system

Strong analytical and logical skills

Customer orientation with a strong focus on quality

Ability to work in an international team

Good proficiency in English, both spoken and written

Beneficial, but not mandatory, is having:

experience with Public Cloud infrastructures (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Azure)

experience with central infrastructure services (e.g., DNS, LDAP, NTP, Mail) and network services (e.g., IPv4/6, VPN, Proxies)
