ResponsibilitiesAs an AutoCAD Electrical Designer, you will be a member of the controls engineering team responsible for the electrical/controls portion of airport baggage security systems. You will use design tools (primarily AutoCAD) to detail the electrical/controls elements needed to meet the specifications within the project schedule and budget.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Layout and design of electrical controls for material handling systems.Detailing designs in AutoCAD using tools and processes (including AutoCAD Electrical).Electrical design calculations.Preparation of functional specifications and drawings for panel manufacturing, field wiring and subcontracts.Attend and participate in team meetings when required.Meet timelines to ensure assignments stay on schedule and on budget.Take a role in the development of the position for future hires.
Basic Knowledge
CAD Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of Computer Aided Design.Working knowledge of how electrical drawings are implemented into a functional installation.Electrical schematic diagrams, Motor Control Panel design, and other drawings typical of a control system.English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Education & Experience
Associate’s Degree in a technical field, or equivalent relevant work experience.Equivalent combination of education and experience.Two (2) years of experience in AutoCAD detailing of electrical/control systems (preferred).AutoCAD experience.Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Experience with material handling equipment (preferred).
