Designer - Good Housekeeping - 10 Month Maternity Cover

Good Housekeeping’s Designer will assist the Creative Director, Art Editor and Senior Designer in implementing the creative vision across all platforms for Hearst UK’s biggest and most trusted women’s lifestyle brand Good Housekeeping. You will be responsible for working on design and visuals across print, digital, events, marketing materials and commercial projects.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

Working with the Creative Director and Art Editor to ensure their design perfectly complements the editorial content and follows the house style whilst maintaining the individual style, design and look of the brand. Marking up pages to be sent to press and repro. Checking final proofs, ensuring pages are of an excellent standard and any corrections or instructions have been actioned when requested. Retouching images if needed and support the senior art team with general administrative tasks. Attending shoots and art directing still life shoots where necessary across all platforms working closely with the editorial team. Attend company and art meetings to generate exciting ideas for layouts of features and regular pages. Research and commission illustrators when appropriate after approval from Creative Director. To work with industry-standard toolsets to complete your work, as well as work within the proscribed processes of the structured workflow systems used to create editorial content. Designing for digital, socials, newsletters, events and brand marketing as necessary. Performance Measurement: The Key Performance Indicators against which you will be measured will be set by your line manager. To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.  You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time. Designing editorial pages and visuals across all platforms for print and digital.

self-motivated Experience working as a Junior Designer / Designer on a publication in the consumer magazine market
