Job Description:

ABC News is looking for a graphic designer for a long standing, one hour broadcast show. This individual would contribute their strong, creative design skills to the forward-thinking graphics team. They should be a designer who can work independently and with the graphics team as well as broadcast director, associate directors, producers, and crew.

Key Responsibilities:

Build keyable segment stills and montages - transfer to Xpression operator for playbackField and address legal & editorial Photoshop edits of stills - transfer to Xpression operator for playbackBuild fullscreen and keyable elements for show open/teases - deliver to editorsBuild full screen quote animations and subtitles – deliver to editorsBuild 3D book cover animations for teases and segments – deliver to edit/Xpression playbackWork on upcoming segment graphics for set and fullscreen (animations, lower thirds, bugs, backgrounds)Provide files to set design team for printingBuild last minute segment producer requests (segment titles, game graphics, etc.)Build elements for sales segments and digital/social media teamSend evening tease checklist items and keyable credits to editManage graphics templates for the department throughout the seasonArchive old projects

Qualifications:

Proficiency in Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustratormotion graphic design; modeling/animating/rendering in 3D and 2D environmentsCinema 4D (or comparable 3D software) experience is a plusPrevious experience creating for tv, and online productions is a plusUnderstanding of television control room workflow and operations is a plusAbility to multitask and perform professionally at the highest levels under stress and tight deadlines

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $67,500.00 to $90,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
