Design Support Specialist

Siplast, a brand of GAF Commercial, offers a uniquely segmented and dedicated portfolio of building enclosure solutions for the commercial construction market. The Territory Manager is part of our dedicated Siplast team. This position is based in Addison, TX, and will work on a hybrid 4:1 in-office schedule.

The Design Support Specialist serves as a functional subject matter expert of Siplast product line applications, specifications, and guarantee/warranty coverages. By providing exceptional technical sales support, this position ensures that installations adhere to manufacturer and industry requirements, and technical application variances are reviewed and processed. Technical support will be required for assembly letters, wind calculations, wind addendums, PV solar applications, product design and development, claims and complaints associated with Siplast commercial products and applications, as well as future strategic initiatives. This position will require communication with stakeholders such as roofing contractors, property owners, and design professionals, in addition to Siplast's Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, Guarantee Services, Warranty Claims, Marketing, and R&D organizations.

Essential Duties

Provide technical roofing application support across project lifecycle from specification to guarantee issuance.Create and maintain technical support literature including design and installation guides, configuration of details, long form specifications and internal training presentationsCreate custom specifications for design customersPrepare ad hoc technical correspondence to assist with project compliance, project modifications, and warranty repair procedures.Provide field-related technical assistance by reviewing CAD architectural details, product application instructions, and PV solar array installations.Review designer specifications, plans, and details and provide written review with suggested modifications prior to bid solicitationSupport Siplast sales by conducting meetings with contractors and designers to assist with proper design of the roof system and problem solving for complex field conditionsProvide cross-functional support for Sales Operations related to activities associated with Siplast design customers and contractors.


Qualifications Required

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) RequiredBachelor’s Degree in a related field PreferredTwo+ years of related work experience focused on commercial construction or roofing Required


Qualifications Preferred

Technical knowledge or related general exterior construction materialsExperience with construction contractor programs and construction materials sales supportExcellent interpersonal skills including communication skills both verbal and written, ability to establish and maintain business relationshipsParticipation/membership in leading industry organizations (IIBEC, CSI, etc.)
