Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Development team at Qualitrol. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Leader, the Quality Engineer will ensure that products are designed for manufacturability and that critical-to-quality (CTQ) specifications are identified and met. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of product (hardware and software) quality and reliability.
Your Impact & Key Responsibilities: In this position, the individual will utilize their expertise in quality engineering to ensure that all products meet stringent quality standards and are designed for efficient manufacturing.
Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiency:
Design for Manufacturability: Ensure that product designs are optimized for manufacturability and meet all CTQ specifications. Quality Test Design: Design and develop all production quality tests to ensure product reliability and performance. Test Fixture Development: Oversee the development of new product test fixtures and reliability tests. FMEAs: Own and manage Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) to identify and mitigate potential risks in the manufacturing process. Long-Term Quality Tests: Develop and implement long-term quality tests to ensure ongoing product reliability. Collaboration: Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Leader, R&D, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality standards and processes. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes. Lean Six Sigma: Design for Lean Six Sigma is highly desirable to ensure process efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology). Proven experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field. Strong understanding of quality control processes, FMEAs, and reliability testing. Experience designing and developing production quality tests and test fixtures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field. Experience in transitioning product designs from development to mass production. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with Lean Six Sigma design.
