Global Construction Engineering (GCE) is responsible for the design and engineering of all of Intel's major manufacturing and cleanroom projects across the globe. We are a team of specialized in-house architects and engineers in a highly collaborative environment. We work together with our factory, operations, and supply chain partners to deliver some of the most technically challenging construction projects in the world with demanding schedule and cost constraints. This is a hybrid position at the Chandler campus in Chandler, Arizona.
Training assignments at other domestic or international locations may be required.
As a Design Manager your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Be a consultant for any construction Project.Provide project leadership for technical engineering and design execution.Assemble a team of engineering specialists and assess the feasibility of new projects.Lead the development of a more detailed scope through field walks and collaboration with facilities operations partners and project engineers.Detailed design and construction performed by our world-class supply chain partners.Serve as the Owner's representative to provide technical guidance and issue resolution.Lead Engineer who defines design criteria, lead scope definition, and justification and develop design concepts.Oversee the completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design.Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met.Ensure implementation of the change control process to improve standards and drive innovative solutions.Build and drive safety Culture of Caring in every business environment, office to the construction sites, and from front-end planning to construction execution.The ideal candidate will exhibit the following behavioral traits:

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must possess one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field with 4+ years of experience in project management in design or constructionOr Master's degree in an Engineering related field with 3+ years of experience in project management in design or construction.Preferred qualification
