Humanscale Design Studio is the creative force that drives Humanscale, the leading manufacturer of ergonomic products for the workplace. Our passion is designing products that combine uncompromising function and honest aesthetics with ultimate ease-of-use.

We seek an exceptional individual to join the engineering team as a Design Engineering Intern focusing on new product development. The successful applicant must possess a background in mechanical engineering, an analytical and creative mind, a willingness to learn in a fast-paced production environment, and an outstanding work ethic.

Responsibilities Engage in brainstorm sessions and conceptualize solutions to real-world problemsPerform competitive product research and teardown analysisManage the construction of prototypes. Execute test plans to evaluate product performance and reliabilityResearch new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processesUsing CAD software, develop 3D models of parts and assemblies Perform theoretical mechanical analysis on prospective designsDevelop engineering drawings that communicate necessary information for manufacturing and assemblyAssist in reviewing off-tool samples and inspection reports Qualifications Completion of at least 2 years of a mechanical engineering degree from an accredited institutionUnderstanding of mechanisms and mechanical systems Experience using 3-D modeling software such as SolidworksBasic knowledge of engineering drawings and their functionBasic knowledge of common manufacturing processesAbility to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences through various media, including;Clear and concise languageDrawing skillsDigital image manipulationClear and professional emailsAbility to lift 60 poundsMust be able to do repetitive bending and stretching
