If your goals and values align with Allied’s, we want you to join our team. **About this Position:** This position will provide engineering support to the Allied Sales team, both domestic and international. Responsibilities include 3D/2D CAD design to facilitate the preparation of quotations and proposals using design analysis, methodology assessment, engineering calculations, thermal analysis, drawings, bills of materials, and technical reports. **Key Responsibilities:** + Utilize AutoDesk Inventor CAD package to complete designs of Refractory Furnace Linings or Pre-cast Refractory ‘Shapes’ + Use the resulting design to: calculate volume estimates to determine material requirements (BOM), create 2D drawings for both internal and customer’s needs, perform thermal analysis, and other engineering related documents + Manage and prioritize the multiple allocated projects to meet or exceed expectation, and effectively communicate with sales, Application Engineering and contractors + Support Production in the Pre-Cast Shapes department, for example, First Article Inspection (FAI) or DFM adjustments to simplify tooling or manufacturing + Maintain personal knowledge and proficiency in application of current departmental and industry design procedures and software applications + Prepare graphic documents for Engineering presentations for inside seminars, meetings, Sales Conferences and for external presentation of Engineering proposals + Participate in procurement and coordination of sub-contractors to provide fabrication services, demolition services, labor and equipment for installation, and dry out / heat up services + Attend field sales calls, meetings, technical presentations, and installations as required to assist the Sales Department and to promote Design, Allied and Allied products. **​Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:** + A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering (mechanical, civil, or aerospace) or other similar technical field is preferred, or an Associate of Science degree in an engineering field will be considered with appropriate coursework and experience + 1-3 years of Engineering experience + Excellent CAD skills, including proficiency with 3D solid modeling and 2D drafting + Ability to read and understand detailed drawings + Excellent written and verbal communications skills + Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 2-4 times per year; 1-4 days each) + Experience with high temperature industrial processing equipment is preferred + Knowledge of heat transfer principles and experience with heat flow analysis software is a benefit **Total Rewards:** + Competitive base pay + As an ESOP company, Allied currently contributes 25% of annual earnings (base pay and profit sharing) to your individual employee retirement account each year + Paid time off including, vacation, holidays, and sick time + Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, and Vision programs + 401K program + Life, Short-Term, and Long-Term disability + Flexible work schedules **Career Growth:** + Growth and advancement opportunities + Education reimbursement for continued learning Allied Mineral Products Holding, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled.
