ATI is currently seeking a Design Engineer I to join our facility located in Irvine, CA. This position will be responsible for design, modeling, estimation-related work, and support of manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate would thrive in a fast-paced environment where extreme attention to detail is required and expected. **Essential Functions:** + Read and interpret customer blueprints and specifications + Design forging configurations and tooling + Run simulations to optimize the forging shapes & forging conditions + Work with die manufactures to specify and manufacture tooling + Manufacturing operations support + Communicate and provide information/documents to other departments + Investigate and analyze data to drive accurate root cause and corrective action efforts + Perform any assigned special R&D projects + Perform inspection of forgings and tooling + Support an environment of mutual trust, respect, safety, and high ethical standards **Basic** **Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent + Familiarity and proficiency with CAD software [AutoCAD and/or Siemens NX12 (Unigraphics) is preferred] **Preferred:** + 2+ years of experience with FEA Modeling [(SFTC Deform) is preferred] **Essential Skills** + Excellent oral and written communication skills + Exceptional interpersonal skills + Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long term solutions + Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task + Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) ATI has a Total Rewards package to attract and retain top talent.
