Are you passionate about Engineering?  S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Engineering function. As a Design Engineer, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

S&C is a global provider of equipment and services for electric power systems. Founded in 1911, the Chicago-based company designs and manufactures switching and protection products for electric power transmission and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and analysis of medium voltage power distribution switchgear, magnetic actuators, and current transformersDevelopment of novel test plans for new and existing productsExecution of medium voltage and high-power testing per relevant standards on new and existing product designsPreparation of necessary design models, drawings, and requests to create test vehiclesPresentation of significant findings, orally and in writing, to senior management and engineers throughout the companyParticipation in formal A3 Problem Solving events as well as Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) eventsProviding superior engineering support for cross functional development related problemsProviding high quality engineering support for internal and external customersDesign, build and test engineering plans for concept validation

What you’ll Need To Succeed:

Job Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience with data processing and scripting languages such as Matlab, R, Python, or Excel VBAWorking knowledge of current/voltage transformers, magnetic actuators, and power electronic devicesDesire to work hands-onExcellent technical writing skillsDesire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentAbility to operate successfully both independently and as part of a larger engineering team
