About the Team 
The department Product Management defines and executes the product policy within the Naval organization. We develop and maintain attractive products with maximized value propositions by anticipating market needs and by building on our technological excellence. Product Management works closely together with Customer Account Teams, Technical Directorate, Engineering and Supply Chain in order to ensure market success of all naval products, services and solutions. Within the Naval domain, Thales Netherlands has a rich heritage of fire control products such as STING EO, Mirador, Lirod Mk2, WM and Goalkeeper. 

About your future job
You are responsible for 10+ fire control products after production phase-out where you demonstrate leadership to your product team. Therefore, your job as Product Manager Legacy Fire Control is a key position within Thales Netherlands. You are in direct contact with Navies and their maintenance organizations and you will engage stakeholders such as sales directors, specialty engineers, configuration managers and fellow legacy product managers. As a product manager you keep capabilities available to deliver product service combinations for products in the final phases of the lifecycle. In close coordination with the Service Sales Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Service Architect Manager we built a collective structure to manage the right expectations and capabilities based on facts to achieve customer trust. You guard adherence to product policy, control lifetime phase transitions, ensure architectural consistency and realize profitability goals for the products.

In short the main tasks of the Product Manager Legacy Fire Control are:

Synthesize installed base trends with hardware/software upgrades and updates, training, overhaul and on board/on-site support while guarding appropriate funding, value price and target costs. 

Own all baselined product documentation and evidence, product pricing and marketing content 

Anticipate on system availability and readiness with services propositions turning into in orders for spares, repairs and in-service support contracts (ISS)

Build up-to-date product plan; prepare and plan appropriate, timely decision review throughout the full life cycle considering overall customer satisfaction and product line profitability goals 

Play an important role in bids and unites with the Sales department. Supports tender building and the preparation of the commercial process, validates tender compliance with product policy and bridges gaps.

Technically understands fire control systems and weapon systems 

Masters business case modelling to optimize product policy investment decisions 

Demonstrates a strong self-direction with a high level of commitment and drive 

Obtained a Master degree in a relevant area.

Is able to drive and implement change and applies the Thales Leadership Profile
