Overview of job:
LBC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Managing Editor to join our leadership team.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the content and delivery of our programming, working closely with presenters to create the most compelling and engaging speech radio. You will assist the Managing Editor in evolving and elevating LBC’s editorial proposition, ensuring our content resonates with audiences and maintains our reputation for excellence.

Work closely with presenters and producers to create high-impact shows, driving a relentless pursuit of excellence to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging.Lead with a hands-on approach in high-pressure environments, providing editorial oversight. Push boundaries to elevate LBC's coverage of breaking news and major stories, ensuring we lead the conversation and offer deeper insight than any competitor.Foster strong relationships with presenters, understanding their unique approaches and styles to enhance their on-air performance.Support individual programmes, aligning content with LBC’s priorities and amplifying its impact.Demand the highest standards of editorial rigor from production teams, while fostering a culture of bold innovation and creativity. Develop emerging talent with a clear focus on elevating LBC’s programming to new heights and expanding our audience reach.Stay informed on current affairs and emerging trends to coach presenters and producers.Leverage comprehensive audience insights and analytics to make decisive editorial choices that amplify the impact of our presenters and programming. Your decisions will drive LBC’s ability to connect with listeners and grow its influence.Represent LBC externally, advocating for the editorial vision and building key stakeholder relationships.What you will need:
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a broadcasting environment, with a strong focus on agenda-setting editorial content and working with leading presenters.Proven ability to collaborate effectively with on-air talent and other editorial staff.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural feel for fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.Strong understanding of digital media and audience engagement strategies.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work to tight deadlines.Everyone is welcome at Global
