Deputy Maintenance Officer
Title: Deputy Maintenance Officer Program Summary: The mission of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Two One (HX-21) is to execute developmental flight test and evaluation of rotary-wing and tilt-rotor aircraft, and their associated airborne systems in support of all United States Navy and Marine Corps training, combat, and combat support missions. The goal of HX-21 is to provide the highest quality evaluation and reporting in support of the aircraft program managers and the fleet warfighters. Job Summary: KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Deputy Maintenance Officer (DMO) in Patuxent River, MD. By joining KBR, you will be a part of the world’s largest independent flight test organization supporting both U.S. Government and Commercial Agencies. Our highly talented and experienced aircrew services team has provided over 40 continuous years of Aircrew project support at Patuxent River. As a long-term incumbent and leader in flight test, the selected applicant will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government, military, contractor, and industry personnel while supporting flight test. Role and Responsibilities: + Supports the Maintenance Officer (MO) at Air Test and Evaluation Squadron TWO ONE (HX-21), NAS Patuxent River. + Support will be in all aspects and analysis of aircraft maintenance to include planning, budgeting, oversight, and analytical evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the maintenance effort in support of program/project objectives. + Provides continuous interface with the HX-21 test squadron, Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL), NAVAIR Program Offices, and logistics support leadership to monitor performance and conduct joint short, mid and long-term planning for the long-term sustainment of the rotary wing/tilt-rotor platforms assigned and related support personnel. + Support and provides management, business analyses, and technical leadership to assigned maintenance team. + Analyze and oversees activities of staff divisions (Quality Assurance, Logs and Records, Technical Library, Data Analysis), and overall department management. + Assists the MO with planning the aircraft operating and maintenance budget, determine resources and allocation of those resources to support program/project execution on cost and schedule, and plan and monitor the technical and professional training of maintenance personnel. Basic Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree. MS/MA Preferred. + A bachelor’s degree is required and 15 years of aviation maintenance experience. + Must be efficient in logistics concepts, organizational and intermediate level aircraft maintenance; quality assurance; and have comprehensive knowledge of the policies, processes, and procedures regarding the planning, funding, and execution of life cycle support of the rotary/tilt-rotor test aircraft assigned, including sponsor goals and milestones, fiscal constraints, and resource limitations while tracking program/project status and schedules. + A secret level security clearance is required. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week Compensation: $107,800 - $161,590 The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
