Strategic Roles & Responsibilities
Litigation Dispute Management
A. Devising the strategy for high stake Arbitration and Litigation cases on PAN India basis.
B. Preparation of pleadings like claims, counter claims, petitions, applications, written statements/replies, and Notes of arguments, can do legal research and precedents,
C. Carrying out pre litigation due diligence to ascertain exposure on financial, reputational , personal liability and importantly business continuity.
D. Have knowledge of court proceedings including environmental laws, la laws, contracts, arbitration etc. E. Coordination with advocates transaction & Contract Management
A. In depth understanding of Commercial Contracts for insulating the commercial Risks
B. Structuring of the deals , JV , consortium Agreements with business partners.
C. Carrying out due diligence of Bid documents & RFP's to ascertain risk exposures & advising on deviation and/or exposures matrix & mitigation strategies.
D. Have knowledge of Financial & tax laws relating to transactions to support financial documentations.
E. Coordination with law firms and advise on drafting .
F. Meeting and interacting with businesses, understanding of issues and facts.
G. Making strategy internally with Legal HOD and Business teams.
Implementation of Systems & Process to ensure governance & compliance.
A. Understanding Mining Laws and other applicable laws such as Employment, Environment , tax laws etc.
B .Advising on legal compliances in operations.
C. Risk management
D. In house Capability building through interactive sessions among business teams.

Expert knowledge of coal mining laws, environmental regulations, and land acquisition policies. Proven experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation. In-depth understanding of dispute resolution mechanisms, including arbitration and litigation. Familiarity with corporate governance principles and compliance frameworks. Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Non-Negotiable Skills
Leadership and strategic decision-making in the legal field. Expertise in coal mining laws and regulatory compliance. Strong communication and negotiation abilities.Education Qualification
LLB/LLM from a recognized institution. Additional qualifications in corporate or commercial law will be an advantage.Experience
Minimum of 20 years of experience in the legal field, with a focus on the coal mining industry. Demonstrated experience in managing legal matters within a large and complex organization. Proven track record of leadership and strategic decision-making within a legal function.
