About the Position: You will serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff, G3 Operations and Plans, key advisor to the Commanding General and Chief of Staff (CoS) regarding the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Armament Command (TACOM) Operations and Plans Directorate. Responsibilities Exercise full authority, managerial responsibility and control over all aspects to act on issues pertaining to the Operations and Plans Division. Authority and responsibility for providing the highest level of technical operations advice regarding program planning, development, execution and evaluation related to TACOM operations. Conduct special analyses and develops plans to establish and maintain a strategic management process for TACOM to enhance the execution of assigned mission within the LCMC Enterprise Community. Serve as the senior strategic planning expert, analyst and advisor on a broad spectrum of issues. Responsible for the direction and control of operations, beginning with planning through completion for all assigned responsibilities and requirements. Oversee the daily operations of the division and technical supervision of the staff exercised through subordinate branches and supervisors. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: Reviewing work products within staff sections to ensure timeliness and quality; managing business activities, critical support services, and long-range strategic planning; directing the planning and execution of financial processes, human resources management, information management, business planning, personnel resource assignments and skill development; overseeing critical support services and staff functions within a command; and exercising an extraordinarily high level of managerial competence and functional expertise. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Leadership Organizational Awareness Organizational Performance Analysis Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
