Activities

STRATEGY

•    To fully manage the operation of the Ladysmith Depot within the framework of relevant legislation and regulations governing the Industry ensuring high customer service levels, effective management as well as efficient and cost effective operation of LADYSMITH DEPOT.

•    To effectively manage the planning and operations of all finished products in Ladysmith to meet the demand of the of the supply chain.

•    To represent TMSA interest in a 50/50 JV with Engen in Ladysmith operations in planning, supply and cost management issues.

•    To represent TMSA interest as a stakeholder in industry forums and committees


MARKETING / ASSET MANAGEMENT

•    Manage the loading, decanting and delivering to customers of product within LADYSMITH DEPOT, ensuring activities are performed safely and accurately.

•    To manage the Depot ’s cost programs (Opex / Capex) ensuring no loss of revenue due to downtime, optimisation of assets lifespan and all risk are minimized, including pre-qualification auditing and operational monitoring of all contractors. 

•    To manage the Depot’s stock, is in conjunction with Supply chain requirements, ensuring that stock levels are maintained at set targets to minimise working capital requirements and to meet TMSA demands.

•    Manage in-transit, operational and delivery stock losses within allowed tolerances and approved, as per limits of authority.

•    Manage Depot’s operating expenditure through budget monitoring to ensure a reduction in costs to improve profitability.

•    Manage the Depot’s customers and 3rd parties to ensure revenue budget targets are maintained.

•    Alignment and maintenance to Integrity management in line with Maestro Log / TRA requirements

•    Ensure in the implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) at the Depot 

•    Management of the receiving, storing and distribution of bulk import additive in the additive plant.


HSSEQ / LEGAL

•    To effectively manage and minimize HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring: Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements. Promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies. 

•    That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within area of responsibility

•    Ensure safe Depot  operations and Champion risk management by prioritizing risks of high consequence events, strengthening barriers and assurance steps to mitigate those risks and maintain HSSEQ systems

•    To handle any operational crises and problems pertaining to the Depot  by activating contingency plans as per IOP

•    Comply to OHS-ACT 16.2 appointment ensuring a) Appoint 8.2i b) legal compliance to national, environmental and local laws c) appointment and monitoring of Health and Safety Committees (including: Safety Officer, Fire Team and First Aid)

•    Optimize TMSA s use of Depot  assets and ensure compliance to NERSA license conditions.

•    Achieve all set HSSEQ objectives (see attached Performance Objectives)

•    To ensure effective risk management and internal control, including asset management for Ladysmith Depot. MOC / HAZOP / TRA / MHI

•    Produce and present safety and sustainability moment at the start of a meeting/ employee gathering/training session etc.

•    Participate in the World Day for Safety

•    Conduct HSSE Committee Meetings

•    Ensure Principal Champion responsibilities are be included in individual objectives

•    Present toolbox talks with contractors and staff employees

•    HSE Training Execution and follow up on mandatory Internal HE trainings.

•    Ramses and INTELEX closure rate to be met.

•    Train all new hires as per Safety Pass Program

•    Implement OSCAR (Action Plan Management tool)

•    Loading HSE Innovations via Safety+

•    Conduct Joint Safety Tours on active worksites during risky works

•    SRM+ action plan monitoring and / or implementation

•    Ensure  Tier 1 and Tier 2 events are kept at 0%

•    Manage testing of the Critical Safety Barriers program – 4920 Tests done per annum 


HR

•    To manage the Depot’s 8 TotalEnergies employees & Intern through continuous people / overtime management, staff development and coaching / mentoring to ensure a positive working environment that will attract and retain skills and increase productivity.

•    Ensure robust communication management within and between site and community (SRM+ & CSI)


Candidate Profile

•    3 year tertiary qualification in engineering or logistics supply chain management and

•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in depot operations in petrochemical industry 

•    Good knowledge and experience of the Petroleum Industry, operations, mechanical and civil works.

•    Capable of autonomy (analysis, proactive, negotiation skills, decision making skills & Communication)

•    Relationship / stakeholder management skills

•    Strict commitment to health, safety, environment and quality.
