Dental Hygientist (PRN), Family Medicine Center

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.

Performs the duties of a licensed dental hygienist in an integrated Family Medicine dental practice, operating under the supervision of the McLeod Family Medicine Residency Director of Integrated Oral Health. 

Provides quality dental services to patients of all ages and periodontal stages. 

Follows proper infection control standards and procedures. 

Collects necessary data for quality assurance and reporting. 

Participates in teaching the integrated oral health curriculum as directed by the Director of Integrated Oral Health 

Performs other duties as necessary to achieve the goals and objectives of the McLeod integrated oral health program. Other duties may include but are not limited to: community outreach, patient navigation, liaison to program partners (community dentists, academic institutions, rural health programs), activities to promote integrated oral health across the McLeod Health system. 

 

Qualifications//Training: 

Required three years of clinical experience 

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene science or Bachelor’s degree in education, healthcare admin, or related field with an Associates in Dental Hygiene. 

South Carolina Registered Dental Hygienist 

Certified Dental Assistant with Expanded Function 

Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Certification 

BLS Certification 

Local Anesthesia Certification
