office and laboratory duties according to Department of Dentistry standards and policies along with scope of practice for the State of Connecticut Maintains HIPPA practices all relevant regulatory compliance and safety requirementsJob ResponsibilitiesProvides support to dentist surgeons hygienist and staff as needed assist chair side hands instruments and materials to dentists maintain filed of operation during dental procedures through appropriate technique ie Suction irrigation drying or other devicesFour Handed Dentistry Prepares materials for impressions and restorations completes dental x rays and processes x ray film as directed by dentist Prepare support counsel and calm patients for treatment obtain and update dental records transportation of patients Assist in the preparation maintenance and care of supplies equipment and facilities within the Department of Dentistry Monitoring and documenting room inventory and resupplying treatment area on a daily or on as needed basis and monthly maintain a surgically clean work environment Maintaining and sterilizing dental equipment prepares instrument trays for dental procedures assists with clerical duties included but not limited to office duties schedule and confirm appointments receive patients keep treatment records assist in updating and maintaining patient dental recordsProvides patient care assistance utilizing age specific competencies geriatric adult pediatric etc that meets each patient unique needsProviding patient education regarding oral care and prevention of oral disease provide pre and postoperative instruction Offer patients recommendations and materials necessary to maintain good dental healthComplete no less than one hour of training or education in infection control in a dental setting every
